Nestled in the heart of the vibrant East Bay area of California, we are on a mission to revolutionize the way home health is perceived and delivered.**Muir Home Health is growing and looking for an experienced and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team!** As a COTA with Muir Home Health, you will have the opportunity to advance your career while receiving strong compensation and excellent benefits.**BENEFITS*** Competitive compensation* Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance* 401(k) plan with generous company match* Critical illness benefit* Paid time off* Employee assistance program**Pay Range:** $40.00 - $50.00/hr**Job Type:** Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem**JOB SUMMARY**The COTA performs only those services planned, delegated, and supervised by the registered Occupational Therapist.**DUTIES AND RESPSONSIBILITY*** Participate in the ongoing evaluation of patient’s functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.).* Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living.* Participate in teaching new skills or retraining patients in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury.* Maintain appropriate clinical records, clinical notes, and reports to the registered occupational therapist any changes in the patient’s condition.* Submit clinical documentation.* Follow treatment program and goals for improved patient function.* Document patient’s response to treatment plan and progress toward established goals.* Maintain contact/communication with other personnel involved in the patient’s care to promote coordinated, efficient care.* Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other home care services.* Consult with the supervising registered occupational therapist and assists with necessary referrals.* Participate in instructing patient’s family/caregiver and other Organization health care personnel in patient’s treatment regime.**JOB REQUIREMENTS*** Valid California Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant license* Maintain a current CPR certification.* 1+ Years of clinical experience as a certified occupational therapist assistant.* Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.**WHY MUIR HOME HEALTH?**Muir Home Health **is a joint venture between John Muir Health and Cornerstone Group**which has about 75 home health and hospice agencies throughout the country. **While we are part of a large family, we operate as a local team.**We understand we are nothing without great employees!
