Special Procedures Technologist Job Description Summary The Special Procedures Technologist performs invasive procedures partnered with the interventional radiologist. Responsibilities include patient assessment, education pre‑ and post‑procedure, safe patient care, and monitoring during the procedure. The technologist safely administers radiation, doses contrast, and processes images, maintains and operates specialized vascular C‑arm equipment, ensures regulatory documentation, and helps prepare and position patients for procedures. Sign on Bonus $20,000 Sign on Bonus** Minimum Training and Education Graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program. 0‑2 years of modality specific experience required; 2‑4 years of experience or graduate of an advanced interventional radiology program preferred. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). 1 year of experience in interventional radiology required for ARRT registration in interventional radiology. Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations Registration with ARRT and state license; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent. Must proactively maintain and renew ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training. Physical Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, from elevated areas, and in confined spaces. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, reach in all directions, use both hands and legs fully, and lift and carry 15 lbs. unassisted. Requires vision, hearing, and tactile sensory functions per job duties. Additional requirements for respirator use apply.
