Application Engineer - Nuclear

Eaton’s North American Sales Division is currently seeking a Nuclear Application Engineer to join our team with a focus on Nuclear Markets. This position can be based in Moon Township, PA or Buffalo, NY. Responsibilities Lead Eaton technical sales engagement with engineering influencers and nuclear certifiers. Provide pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support: work with internal Eaton teams and third‑party technology providers to identify business problems, facilitate requirements, participate in design thinking sessions, and create product feature descriptions and value propositions. Collaborate with the NAS sales organization, sales reps, and proposals teams to prepare compelling proposals for Eaton’s end‑to‑end electrical portfolio (including software and service solutions). Respond to RFP documents and design electrical power distribution, power quality and control solutions, including system customization and configurations with software and services. Provide detailed cross references of our product categories that were designed into AP1000 nuclear reactors and ensure compliance with specifications. Assist in developing IEC specifications from ANSI/NEMA designs to ensure Eaton is specified and preferred globally for new AP1000 builds. Keep up to date on the latest nuclear reactor builds, including Small Modular Reactors, and promote Eaton preferences with new reactor manufacturers. Provide feedback on the Voice of Customer to product, system, solution, and service business leaders for future product development, quality, and customer satisfaction. Support and drive customer interface strategy with assigned sales teams to build strong support with decision makers. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of 7 years of electrical sales or electrical engineering experience. Possession of a valid and unrestricted driver’s license. Must currently reside within 50 miles of either Moon Township, PA or Buffalo, NY (Active‑Duty Military Service members are exempt). Candidate will not receive relocation assistance or immigration sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license. 7+ years of deep domain expertise in the power distribution and controls industry, including power quality and control solutions for commercial and industrial markets. 5+ years of outcomes‑selling, consultative selling experience with executive and technical buyers. 5+ years of experience developing and translating business use cases into solution requirements and architecture documentation, focusing on electrical products, solutions, software, and services. Skills Highly fluent in power distribution and control design. Technology leadership, self‑motivation, and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for client satisfaction. Excellent communication skills with all levels (executive, technical) and ability to manage long‑term relationships and influence. Collaborative development of long‑term relationships with regional sales leaders, product managers, delivery, and engineering teams. Drive innovation through a culture of learning, risk‑taking, and obsessive customer focus. Change agent for customers/clients and the regional sales organization, championing new ideas. Excellent client/customer‑facing skills; ability to represent Eaton’s electrical portfolio and articulate value propositions. Strategic business acumen and complex problem‑solving skills in a matrixed organization. Train Eaton sales organization on nuclear‑specific designs and applications. Ability to travel up to 10%. Compensation Full‑time position includes base pay and a target sales performance incentive. Target total compensation range: $143,750 – $210,000.
