Position: Surgical Process Technician

Location: Cleveland, OH

Shift Details

This position is for the Mid Shift, 5x8-Hour schedule from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. For the initial orientation period of three weeks, selected candidates will work the Day Shift from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM to gain familiarity with the unit.

Job Description

The Surgical Process Technician plays a vital role in supporting surgical teams by ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly managed and maintained. This includes a variety of tasks such as lifting heavy items, transporting patients, and cleaning or turning over surgical rooms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience is required.
• A minimum of 18 months of combined permanent experience in the specialty area is preferred.
• Possession of a valid Ohio license or a compact license is required at the time of application.
• One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the relevant specialty area, preferably from assignments worked in the last 12 months, is required.

Additional Information

This role includes interdisciplinary support and caters to a diverse patient demographic with varying diagnoses. Candidates will also complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation, with two attempts provided to pass.

Compliance Requirements

• All candidates must be nicotine-free, with a negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine required within the last 12 months.
• Background checks will be thoroughly reviewed, and candidates with any open cases will not be considered.
• BCI/FBI prints are time-sensitive and must be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract.

Contractual Duration

Travelers can remain in this assignment for up to 18 months, with a mandatory break of 6 months required before returning to the facility unless otherwise approved.

Module Training

Four hours of module training are billable; any additional pre-start training time is non-billable. Annual modules also require billing for up to 4 hours per year for continuous travelers.
