Controls Engineer

About the Company

Lading global manufacturer that is adding a Controls Engineer to its engineering team. This is a hands-on opportunity supporting automation, production equipment, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Location:

Onsite near Woonsocket, RI

What you'll do:

• Support new equipment projects from concept through implementation
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot machine controls and automation systems
• Lead equipment improvements focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction
• Partner with manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, and outside vendors on controls and machine design
• Respond to production issues and provide technical support for manufacturing equipment
• Develop and maintain electrical controls documentation and engineering standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5+ years of controls or automation engineering experience in manufacturing
• Experience with industrial automation, machine controls, and production equipment
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
• CAD experience and the ability to manage multiple engineering projects

Required Skills

The hiring manager is open to candidates with experience on any major PLC platform. They use multiple systems, so strong automation and controls fundamentals are more important than experience with a specific PLC programming language or software.
