Human Resources Business PartnerWilbert Funeral Services, Inc., part of Marmon Holdings—backed by Berkshire Hathaway—is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner. This role will serve as both a tactical resource and strategic advisor to business leaders, aligning human resources initiatives with organizational objectives. This position will oversee all aspects of human resources for assigned locations, including recruitment, training, performance management, compensation and benefits. The HRBP will also lead initiatives in employee engagement and culture transformation, while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. This position will be based in Leawood, KS and will report to the Chief People Officer.Wilbert Funeral Services, Inc. is a leading precast concrete manufacturer and service provider, catering to the funeral service, building trades, and agricultural sectors. Our comprehensive range of top-tier concrete offerings encompasses burial vaults, monuments, lawn crypts, columbarium niches, septic tanks, retaining walls, storm shelters, and agricultural precast products. Operating from numerous manufacturing plants, warehouses, monument production facilities, a casket manufacturing plant, we are dedicated to delivering unparalleled products and services.Core HR OperationsOversee benefits administration and leave management through coordination with Corporate HR support staff.Oversee recruitment of non-exempt positions, hiring, onboarding, and employee development programs.Assist Talent Acquisition Manager on the hiring and onboarding of professional and management positions.Maintain personnel files for all active employees and manage HR transactions in HRIS system (Workday) accurately and on a timely basis.Provide accurate tracking of attendance for non-exempt personnel, including verification of call-insEmployee Development and PerformanceIdentify training needs and coordinate with Corporate HR to develop programs to support employee growth and skill development.Coach managers on performance management, employee development, and team effectiveness.Prepare, track, and conduct employee training sessions to reflect strategic talent development.Assist senior HR leadership with talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development programs.Workplace Culture and Employee RelationsProvide guidance on complex employee relations issues.Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.Conduct investigations and recommend resolutions for sensitive matters.Design and implement employee engagement strategies and action plans.Serve as a culture ambassador, promoting company values and fostering a positive work environment.Strategic HR LeadershipPartner with regional and local management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business objectivesAnalyze HR metrics and provide insights to drive data-informed decisions.Drive change management strategies to support business transformation.QualificationsBachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or related field; master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a HR Manager or HR Business Partner or leadership role.Strong business acumen and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.Proficiency in HRIS systems and data analytics tools.SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
