Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down Unit position requiring ICU experience, with floating responsibilities across multiple units on nights.

Details

• 21-bed Step-Down Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes NSTEMIs, post-cardiac cath with intervention, vascular surgery (fem-pop, CEA), CIWA protocol patients receiving IVP Ativan, peritoneal dialysis, stable BiPAP, heated high-flow O2 (<80%), home ventilators (Trilogy), and wound care
• Non-titrating drips in use, including Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene
• Hemodialysis performed in the Dialysis Department
• Patient ratio of 1:4–5
• Floating required across Step-Down, ICU, and Med-Surg units
• EMR: Meditech
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license currently in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• ICU experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Orientation is held every Wednesday
• Scrub color requirements: Royal Blue and White
• Travelers will be floated to the ICU as needed
