Physician - Interventional Radiologist

Summary The applicant selected will have clinical, administrative, and teaching responsibilities. The candidate will be board certified / board eligible by the American Board of Radiology and have specialty training in Vascular & Interventional Radiology. The position requires instruction/supervision of radiology residents, Interventional Radiology Fellows, and angiography technologists. Research interest/experience is preferred. Qualifications United States Citizenship (non‑citizens only when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy) Medical degree (MD/DO) from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth or the District of Columbia Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program leading to board certification eligibility Physicians currently in ACGME/AOA accredited residency programs eligible to be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) if otherwise qualified (PRPs must be fully licensed and are appointed on an intermittent or fee‑basis) Proficiency in spoken and written English Preferred: Additional experience referenced at Physical requirement: TB test. Responsibilities Serve as a specialist in interventional radiology and perform interventional procedures, including peripheral vascular interventions, embolization, renal procedures, CT/US guided procedures, spine interventions, biliary procedures, TIPS, endovascular aortic repair, and radiofrequency ablation. Interpret and perform angiography and vascular imaging (CT and MR angiograms). Supervise and educate radiology residents, fellows, and technologists. Coordinate care within the IR team and with external providers. Review IR orders for appropriateness and feasibility, prepare patients pre‑procedure, perform procedures, and manage post‑procedure care and documentation in CPRS. Contribute to quality assurance, performance improvement, and committee assignments supporting VA and medical center missions.
