Advantage Moving & Storage is hiring class A CDL Truck Drivers/Movers. Drivers will lead and support move crews on residential and commercial relocations. This role operates straight trucks, box trucks, and tractor-trailers daily. This position is very labor intensive. Candidates must be capable of carrying boxes and furniture up and down stairs, lifting large pieces of furniture and walking several miles throughout the day. The driver will work alongside several movers and help ensure safe, efficient moves. Most of Advantage Moving & Storage's workload takes place in Chicago, IL. Drivers must be comfortable driving equipment in Chicago and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and moving equipment before operation.
• Safely operate straight trucks, box trucks, and tractor-trailers.
• Lead small to large crews on projects.
• Greet customer upon arrival to location and maintain communication throughout the job.
• Assist with loading and unloading furniture and specialty items.
• Operate liftgates, fork lifts, dollies, pallet jacks, panel carts and loading ramps.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Check inventory and verify items during pickup and delivery.
• Provide professional customer service and coordinate moving activities.
• Complete delivery documentation accurately.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in commercial driving and moving operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial driving and CDL compliance.
• Knowledge of vehicle inspection and safe loading practices.
• Furniture handling experience.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Physical stamina for moving operations.
