- Location: On‑site at Adena – Pike, Waverly, OH
- Role: PRN Patient Access Associate Specialist
Job Responsibilities
- Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, provide patient instructions, collect insurance information, receive and process physician orders, and utilize an overlay tool while delivering excellent customer service measured by Press Ganey.
- Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter‑office calls.
- Adhere to policies and provide compassionate customer service in all interactions.
- Accountable for point‑of‑service goals as assigned.
- Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to correct accounts, conduct audits, and ensure forms are completed accurately and in a timely manner to meet audit standards, providing statistical data to leadership.
- Perform pre‑registration of patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound/outbound calls to obtain demographic, insurance, and financial information and collections.
- Explain consent for treatment forms to patients/guarantors/legal guardians, obtain signatures, and distribute patient education documents and required forms.
- Review eligibility responses in the insurance verification system, select appropriate insurance plan codes, and enter benefit data to support point‑of‑service collections and billing processes for a clean claim rate.
- Screen medical necessity using Advanced Beneficiary Notice software to inform Medicare patients of possible non‑payment, distribute ABN and other designated documents, and provide necessary documentation.
Experience We Love
- 1+ years of customer service experience.
- Inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI, to improve processes and patient/client experiences.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma/GED required.
Certifications
- CRCR required within 6 months of hire (company‑paid).
