Mission of the Vice President of Marketing

The mission of the VP of Marketing at Swamp Fox Agency is to develop and execute an integrated marketing and loss control strategy that aligns with the agency's growth, retention, and risk management goals. This role ensures brand consistency, strengthens client engagement, and promotes agency services, especially in loss control, to support client acquisition and risk mitigation efforts. The VP of Marketing builds a reputable brand, drives key performance metrics, and ensures collaborative integration between marketing, sales, and service operations.

Key Responsibilities of This Role

  1. Strategy, Leadership & Collaboration

a. Develop an annual marketing and loss control strategy roadmap aligned with agency goals.

b. Lead and manage both the marketing and loss control teams, promoting collaboration between client acquisition and risk management.

c. Coordinate with producers and underwriters to support high-quality risk selection and client engagement.

d. Report strategic insights and performance metrics (including ROI, client retention, and program effectiveness) to executive leadership.

e. Manage the department budgets for both marketing and loss control.

  1. Branding & Communication

a. Oversee brand consistency and reputation management across all platforms: digital, print, events, and community outreach.

b. Provide final approval on marketing initiatives to ensure brand standards are met.

c. Represent the agency at events and within the community to promote its brand and mission.

d. Promote the agency's loss control services as a value-add for clients, highlighting their role in reducing claims and improving underwriting outcomes.

  1. Retention & Risk Management

a. Design marketing campaigns that emphasize Swamp Fox Agency's commitment to proactive risk management and tailored coverage.

b. Develop client nurturing strategies such as welcome kits, renewal campaigns, claims communications, and milestone touchpoints.

c. Implement cross-selling and lost client win-back campaigns to improve retention rates.

d. Engage with clients and community partners to promote safety initiatives, training workshops, and educational programs.

  1. Sales Process & Lead Nurturing

a. Implement branding and communication strategies to improve closing ratios and support producers.

b. Identify ideal client profiles using data from marketing and loss control efforts.

  1. Lead Generation

a. Identify and target niche markets aligned with agency strengths and underwriting appetite.

b. Enhance digital visibility through blogs, video campaigns, online ads, and SEO strategy.

c. Attend and sponsor networking events to expand agency reach and client acquisition.

  1. Carrier Relationships & Appointments

a. Serve as the agency's primary liaison to appointed carriers, building and maintaining strong relationships with carrier reps, underwriters, and marketing representatives.

b. Evaluate, pursue, and onboard new carrier appointments that align with the agency's growth strategy, niche markets, and underwriting appetite.

c. Negotiate and manage carrier contracts, including contingency and profit-sharing agreements, volume incentives, and co-op marketing/advertising funds.

d. Monitor carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, and product or program changes, and communicate relevant updates to producers and staff.

e. Track carrier loss ratios, production commitments, and appointment standing to protect and strengthen the agency's book with each carrier.

f. Represent the agency at carrier conferences, trainings, and advisory council meetings to maintain visibility and strengthen influence with key partners.

g. Partner with carriers on co-branded marketing campaigns, joint client outreach, and shared educational initiatives.

Requirements

● Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license strongly preferred; candidates who are already licensed will be given priority consideration.

● Must be willing to travel as needed.

● Must have prior experience working in the insurance industry.
