Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request
• Performs a variety of technical procedures to support physicians diagnosis
• Responsible for providing high quality imaging
• Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
• Reviews physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
• Retrieve studies from PACS for review
• Perform appropriate infection control processes
• Provide an environment of care that supports patient safety
• Addresses patient educational needs as pertains to requested studies
• Prepare patients for the study
• Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines
• Assures accuracy data for clinical reports demographics and billing information for physician reports
• Support team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a "team approach" to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma/GED Required Graduation from a CAAHEP or other accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required or 5 years of diagnostic ultrasound experience
• License/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (BLS expiration date must be valid 60 days from the start date) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Preferred
