Senior It Administrator

You will manage the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, including the physical network as well as server applications and software. You will ensure the effective maintenance and improvement for the computing hardware and internal network infrastructure.

• Take responsibility for planning, conception, installation and administration of our internal network infrastructure
• Evaluate the cost/benefits of various solutions / different technologies for system architecture or parts of them
• Perform routine audit of systems and software
• Ensure that the network infrastructure is up and running. Analyze system logs and identify potential issues
• Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes
• Review and Write Documentation for the configuration of the system architecture
• Identify gaps in System performance and provide recommendations for improvements to Management
• Identify gaps in safety concepts and provide recommendations for improvements to Management
• Analyze, prioritize and escalate in case of incidents within the context of 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support
• Schedule own time to deliver against priorities agreed with Team / Project Manager in line with agreed project timescales
• Get buy-in from various stakeholders including executive management, (internal) customers and own team for proposed initiatives/solutions/priorities
• Lead projects to deliver changes and/or improvements to infrastructure.
• Actively communicate status in a timely manner, with recommended solutions or workarounds.
• Provide other employees pro-actively and re-actively with your expert input and advice
• Coach other employees on technologies, processes and products to enable them to contribute more effectively
• Conduct presentations to other employees on products and technologies
• Pro-actively apply technology knowledge to identify opportunities to enhance the business

This position reports to the head of engineering/IT.
