Job Description Buyer Peterborough, Ontario Join a dynamic buying team in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Buyer will help usher in new tools and strategies to help us achieve our highest goals as we grow as an organization. Key Accountabilities Support development of and execute sourcing strategies to drive immediate and long-term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery, with engagement and support of key stakeholders. Project managing source and method change and/ or NPI sourcing within the strategy to meet all program milestones. Leading commercial negotiations to achieve the best overall value for Rolls-Royce, and ensuring that supplier commercial issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. Negotiating LTAs and other service level agreements within various commodities. Leading specific supplier relationships fulfilling the accountabilities of supplier leadership and development and creating strategies where applicable. Consulting with Marine Global Commodity Manager(s) and Naval Purchasing Managers to develop and ensure alignment of strategy across the wider Marine business. Manage the sourcing of parts/services, and raise and manage purchase documents within the purchasing ERP system as appropriate, with compliance to all required customer and governmental regulations. Business Development – where designated, develop and select supply chains to support Naval business growth including technology acquisition programs, developing in-country/localization requirements, and driving lowest compliant cost. Assist in training buying team in best practices and Rolls-Royce procedures. Basic Requirements A Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in a procurement environment OR, A Master’s degree with previous experience in a procurement environment OR, In lieu of degree, 6+ years experience in a procurement environment Ability to travel at least 10% Preferred Requirements Previous experience with DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement) Global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working Understands manufacturing or service processes and the cost drivers Understands manufacturing or service processes and the cost drivers Understands the Total Cost of Acquisition impact Understands and operates Supplier Relationship Management Experience with LTA and commercial contract negotiation Understands export control regulations Join us and you’ll develop your skills and expertise to the very highest levels, working in an international environment for a company known the world over for brilliance and innovation.
