Puyana Plastic Surgery is a premier, high-end aesthetic plastic surgery practice seeking a  bilingual Medical Assistant to join our growing team. We are looking for a highly organized, proactive individual who can multitask effectively while providing exceptional support to both patients and providers.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant will support the clinical and surgical team with patient care, pre-operative and post-operative appointments, clinical documentation, patient education, and day-to-day office operations. This individual will play a key role in ensuring an outstanding patient experience from consultation through recovery.

Students currently enrolled in a nursing program are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers during patient consultations and follow-up visits.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Obtain and document medical histories, vital signs, and patient information.
• Assist with pre-operative and post-operative appointments and patient education.
• Coordinate patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
• Assist with clinical documentation, forms, and chart preparation.
• Answer patient questions and provide outstanding customer service.
• Coordinate laboratory work, prescriptions, and referrals as needed.
• Ensure exam rooms and clinical areas are fully stocked and organized.
• Support inventory management and supply tracking.
• Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Perform additional administrative and clinical duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant or related experience .
• Fluent in  English and Spanish (written and verbal).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Preferred

• Experience in  plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, dermatology, med spa, aesthetics, or cosmetic medicine .
• Experience with  pre-operative and post-operative patient care .
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
• Current Medical Assistant certification.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program.
