Associate, Public Finance Secondary Markets

Kutak Rock LLP seeks an associate attorney to join the Secondary Markets group within the Public Finance practice. The ideal candidate will have an interest in developing their knowledge and skills in a wide range of transactional matters in municipal, asset-backed, and corporate securities while working with experienced, nationally-recognized partners. Qualified candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience in public finance, real estate, lending, corporate finance or other transactional areas are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Researching federal and state law, including federal and state securities and lending laws, the Internal Revenue Code, and local bond and real estate law Preparing and reviewing transaction documents, including trust indentures, loan agreements, financing agreements, swap documents and opinions Preparing and reviewing underwriting documents, including offering documents, purchase agreements and disclosure certificates Interacting and communicating with clients and other transaction parties Qualifications: Skills and Abilities Understanding of various business entities Excellent oral and written communication skills Exceptional research and analytical skills Ability and confidence to work independently and flexibly Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to apply critical thinking and possess a high attention to detail Work professionally and collaboratively with partners, associates, and support staff Self‑motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic Qualifications: Education and Experience Must be currently admitted to practice with an active bar license in good standing of the locality of the office location in which the candidate sits Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in public finance, real estate, lending, corporate finance or other transactional areas Strong academic record Position Information Status: Exempt Work Arrangement: Hybrid 4:1, with supervisor approval Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Dependent Life, Disability, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance.
