POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Membership Director is responsible for administering, supervising, developing, and implementing various membership-related programs and services of the Branch.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Develops, implements, manages, and enhances all assigned program and services.
2. Develops long range vision and strategies for the assigned programs that connect members and/or participants with one another and the YMCA.
3. Recruits, hires, train, and supervise all staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Facilitates communication, provides leadership, and models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
4. Plans and develops schedule for all assigned programs.
5. Solicits feedback from members, program participants, and staff to improve assigned programs.
6. Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committee/boards as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
7. Ensures high-quality, member-focused programs and events through innovative program development, evaluations, and ongoing training of assigned staff.
8. Coordinates and executes all assigned program special events and activities.
9. Provides all data and reports as necessary.
10. Works collaboratively with other Association departments, volunteers, committees, and community stakeholders
11. Actively participates in all staff meetings and trainings, annual support campaign, and other Association-wide initiatives.
12. Serves as an active branch team member providing daily support to branch operations by meeting the day-of needs of the branch including cleaning, sanitation, program support, and member experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR Associate’s degree and relevant experience preferred. Must have willingness to obtain any required YMCA certifications.
2. Experience: Three or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency. Two to three years of experience working in assigned program area(s) preferred.
3. Must have CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certification or have willingness to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire.
4. Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fundraising.
5. Demonstrated ability working with people from diverse backgrounds.
6. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
7. Must be team-player with a hungry, humble, and people-smart personality.
8. Must be able to manage multiple projects, but be able to adjust priorities on a day to day basis to focus "What's Important Now" or W.I.N.

The employee frequently is required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
