Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 60 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System.

Additional Details:

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Trauma experience. Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required. Blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, starting IVs, insulin, PCA, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements, surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.

Required Credentials: Must pass Relias EKG exam.

Special Requests: Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted. No medical marijuana cards accepted. RNs who obtained their RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold a MO, IL, or Compact license require an extended licensing and compliance timeframe. No more than 7 days of RTO per 13 week contract. If a shift is missed, please work to make up as soon as possible if able.

Unit Details: Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population. Patients come from the ED, OR, or ICU. Cares for geriatric trauma patients age 55+ and trauma patients including abuse/violence victims, MVA/MVC, and falls. Acute care surgery cases include appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, and TBI.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. Every other weekend. No call.

Floating Requirements: Float within service line.
