Material Handler 1

Location: Covington, GA 30014 Job Type: Contract Duration: 12 months (Possible extension / Full-time employment) XXXX: XXXXXXXXXXX/hr W2 Shift: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM 2:30 PM, with overtime as needed Education: High school diploma preferred, but not required Experience: 1+ year of warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred Drug Screen: Not Required

Job Summary The Material Handler 1 will support the Kitting Department by moving, wrapping, and organizing pallets and materials throughout the manufacturing warehouse. The position also involves maintaining a clean and organized work area and assisting with kitting activities when other material-handling tasks are completed.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve finished-goods pallets from production lines, wrap them, and move them to the pending-release area.
• Move released pallets to the designated receiving area.
• Pull pallets and materials from staging areas to production lines.
• Coordinate the movement of components with forklift operators.
• Operate a manual pallet jack to move inventory and materials.
• Empty cardboard and trash bins and maintain proper housekeeping.
• Sweep and clean the kitting area.
• Retrieve kitting labels from the front office daily.
• Assist with kitting activities when other material-handling tasks are complete.
• Attend required training sessions.
• Follow all workplace safety, quality, and attendance requirements.

Requirements

• 1+ year of warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
• High school education or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Experience using a manual pallet jack is preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work the full scheduled shift are critical requirements.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
• May be exposed to moderate to occasionally loud noise.
• Work may be performed around moving mechanical equipment and material-handling equipment.
• Regular standing, walking, reaching, and handling of materials is required.

Important: Attendance is a major requirement for this position. Candidates should be comfortable reporting to work consistently and completing their full scheduled shift each day.
