THE ROLE: AMD is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to drive post‑silicon product characterization, volume data analysis, and reliability assessment for advanced silicon programs. In this highly technical, individual‑contributor role, you will own deep analysis of high‑volume silicon data, characterize IP and system behavior across operating corners, model reliability risk, and lead fault isolation and failure analysis efforts.You will partner closely with design, DFT, manufacturing, supplier, and product teams to translate silicon data into actionable insights that influence product readiness, margin decisions, supplier engagement, and executive‑level strategy.THE PERSON: The ideal candidate is a deeply analytical product engineer who thrives in data‑rich environments and ambiguous problem spaces. You combine strong technical judgment with the ability to clearly communicate insights and influence decisions. You are comfortable engaging across engineering disciplines, working directly with suppliers, and presenting conclusions to executive audiences.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Own analysis of large‑scale, high‑volume silicon and manufacturing data to assess yield, performance, quality, and parametric distributionsDrive IP‑level and system‑level silicon characterization across voltage, frequency, temperature, and stress conditionsDevelop and apply reliability models (e.g., aging, degradation, wear‑out mechanisms) to inform product decisions and risk assessmentsLead fault isolation and failure analysis efforts, correlating electrical, physical, and manufacturing signatures to root causesPartner with supplier and foundry teams to review data, resolve issues, and negotiate technical and quality tradeoffsProvide data‑driven recommendations on product readiness, guardbanding, test limits, and manufacturing strategiesTranslate complex technical findings into clear, concise communication for senior technical leaders and executive stakeholdersCollaborate cross‑functionally with design, DFT, test, packaging, and product engineering teams to close data gaps and accelerate learningPREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Strong experience with volume silicon data analysis, including yield trending, distribution analysis, correlation, and outlier isolationHands‑on experience with IP characterization and silicon bring‑up across multiple operating modes and environmentsProven background in fault isolation and failure analysis, spanning electrical debug and physical failure mechanismsExperience building or applying reliability and lifetime models to silicon dataDemonstrated ability to influence outcomes through supplier engagement and technical negotiationStrong executive‑level communication skills, with experience presenting complex data‑backed recommendationsFamiliarity with advanced semiconductor process technologies, post‑silicon validation flows, and high‑volume manufacturingACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.LOCATION:Austin, TXThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.#LI-AJ1Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
