Intensive Care Unit Nurse

An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse provides 24/7 care for critically ill, unstable patients. Duties include managing life-support equipment such as ventilators. Nurses will titrate complex intravenous drips and interpret vital signs. They perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and administer medications. Coordination of advanced care with the multidisciplinary medical team is essential. The position involves a strict attendance policy to ensure patient care. Any absence from a scheduled shift or tardiness of more than 20 minutes will be taken seriously. Support of evidence for situations like communicable diseases or hospitalization will be reviewed favorably. Ability to manage ventilators is preferred as well as experience with CRRT and balloon pumps.
