Director of Compliance

FAFCU is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Compliance to lead the Credit Union's enterprise compliance program and serve as the designated BSA Officer. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, with primary oversight of BSA/AML/OFAC programs, regulatory change management, vendor compliance risk, fair lending monitoring, consumer compliance, and exam readiness. The Director of Compliance partners closely with leaders across the organization to develop and maintain effective compliance policies, procedures, controls, and training programs that protect the Credit Union while supporting operational excellence. This position serves as a trusted advisor to management, regulators, and auditors, driving a proactive compliance culture through risk assessments, monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong financial-services compliance experience, expertise in BSA/AML/OFAC regulations, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for helping organizations navigate an evolving regulatory environment while delivering exceptional service to members. Knowledge and Skills: Experience 4+ years of experience in credit union, banking, or financial-services compliance/risk roles, with direct BSA/AML/OFAC responsibilities. Experience serving as a designated BSA Officer. Education Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional certifications such as BSACS, ACAMS, CUCO, NCCO, or equivalent. - Preferred but not required. Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Other Skills Talks to others to convey information effectively.
