Operator I This position is responsible for producing high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, the Operator I may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and testing operations for in vitro medical assays or related medical device assemblies. Perform routine manufacturing assignments according to specified and standardized procedures. Ensure job documentation for cell operations and functions is accurate and up to date. Communicate ideas, problems, and solutions clearly to all levels of manufacturing management, both verbally and in writing. Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers. Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices during all operations. Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes and meet quality and profitability metrics. Maintain accurate production records, traveler documents, and quality documentation to ensure part traceability and address quality issues. Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing. Work with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to set and monitor individual goals and cell performance metrics. Support divisional initiatives and comply with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements. High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions. Ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software. Ability to prioritize work based on sequencing, timing, precedence, and importance. Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts. Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision. Strong communication and documentation skills. Clothing must be clean, non-shedding, and free of frayed hems, loose threads, glitter, sequins, tassels, or other items that could become dislodged. Clothing must fit under the lab coat or gown. Sweaters, fleece, loose-knit garments, and loose-fiber clothing are not allowed. Turtlenecks or high-neck clothing must not extend above the lab coat or gown. Sleeves must not extend beyond the cuffs. Head coverings must be covered by the bouffant. Head wraps worn for cultural or customary reasons must be clean, tightly woven, and fully covered by the bouffant and lab coat or gown. Shoes must be worn at all times, with socks or stockings required. Heels must not be pointed or higher than 2 inches. Sandals, clogs, slippers, open-toe shoes, open-heel shoes, and shoes that expose the toes are prohibited. Changing shoes in the production area is not allowed except in a designated gowning room. The torso, upper arms, and legs must be covered. Short skirts, skirts with slits, short shirts, and sleeveless tops are not permitted.
