Summary:

This role involves delivering requested supplies and equipment from the central distribution area to various departments within the healthcare facility. All tasks are performed under the direct supervision of the Distribution Supervisor or designated Charge Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide supplies to walk-in customers, ensuring proper documentation and account allocation using the MMIS system.
• Process tickets from MMIS Web requisitions, separating and distributing orders to departments as needed.
• Stage orders for delivery to external customers and obtain signatures to verify receipt.
• Break down pallets and organize inventory, verifying item details such as manufacturer codes, expiration dates, and quantities.
• Operate manual or electric pallet jacks safely to deliver supplies and equipment.
• Manage mailroom duties including sorting, processing, and delivering mail and packages.
• Perform routine cleaning in designated areas such as receiving docks, inventory locations, and mailrooms.
• Communicate effectively with purchasing, vendors, and requestors regarding inbound supply issues.
• Utilize documentation and spreadsheets to support performance improvement processes.
• Receive and verify Prime Vendor EDI transmissions into the MMIS system, ensuring accuracy of quantities and descriptions.
• Pick up, return, and sanitize work areas before and after shifts.
• Conduct scheduled rounds to deliver supplies and equipment from Central Supply and perform urgent (Stat) runs as necessary.
• Assemble specialty kits for restocking units.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.

• Fluent in English with strong reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to daily operational and patient care changes.
• Strong multitasking and critical thinking abilities.
• Discretion in handling confidential information.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Physical Requirements:

• Good vision and hearing.
• Capable of continuous walking and standing.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and push carts weighing up to 100 pounds.

This position serves a diverse healthcare region in the Southeastern United States, supporting a multi-hospital system and numerous specialty clinics.
