Dedicates approximately half of their time to delivering direct customer service—engaging with customers to resolve inquiries and support their financial needs to reinforce an exceptional in-branch experience. Plays a critical role in fostering team development, being a role model of expected behaviors, and ensuring the branch meets its financial and service goals.Work ScheduleMonday - Friday 8:15 AM - 5:15 PM, Saturday 8:45 AM - 12:15 PMEssential FunctionsSupport management of day-to-day branch activities including operations, administration and providing directions to branch staffModel expected sales behaviors while acting as a personal banker and assisting team members with day-to-day customer interactionsProactively develop customer relationships by listening to and understanding the customer (both internal and external), anticipating and providing solutions to customer needsManage a team of personal bankers; Observe and coach personal bankers through a structured coaching process to improve customer experience, responsible for coaching of direct reports and supporting coaching activities for non-direct reportsMeet individual sales goals and assigned business development responsibilitiesHelp monitor sales efforts, meet individual goals, and contribute to strategies that drive branch goals and analyze results, develop and implement performance improvement efforts with coaching model to ensure that expectations and goals are metEnsure adherence to policies, procedures, and security standards. Support branch resultsSupport branch leaders in coaching staff to deliver customer experience model, resolve customer issues promptly, and maintain service excellenceEnsure compliance with established policies and procedures related to Bank operations, security, talent management; reinforcing existing protocol and escalating to branch leadership when neededSupport required training completion by accurately scheduling training sessions into weekly schedules and providing customer-facing coverage when trainings are taking place; Mentor new team members and actively engage in their learning journeyBuild weekly schedules in alignment with staffing modelLead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needsPerform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as requiredCommunicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members effectivelySupport budget management, planning and expenditurePerform other duties as assignedKnowledge Skills & Abilities RequiredStrong knowledge of retail banking, including knowledge of best practicesStrong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problemsAbility to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the businessStrong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goalsOutstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writingAbility to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core ValuesIntermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookEducation & ExperienceHigh School diploma required. Associate Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required1+ years leadership/supervisory experience required1+ year experience in financial services industry and working knowledge of retail products and services and bank operations requiredFor this position, federal regulations require Commerce Bank to prepare an investigatory consumer report which will disclose credit history.
