Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ years of experience for a hospital-based position covering critical care, ED, and bedside bronchoscopy patients.

Details

• Work within a hospital Respiratory Care unit serving all patient types requiring respiratory services
• See pediatric patients in the ED, with admitted patients being over 13 years of age
• Perform bedside bronchoscopy procedures
• Utilize specialized equipment including Servo I/U, Hamilton C1, V60, AirSense/AirCurve, INOmax, OptiFlow, Airvo, MicroMax, Panda Warmer, and Boston Scientific Exhault for bronchoscopy
• Variable shift schedule including 0645-1915, 0645-1515, 1145-2315, and 1445-2315
• 40 hours weekly combining 8s and 12s
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Will not work day and evening shifts back-to-back

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• PA state license required if applicable, and must be in hand prior to starting
• Experience with 1:1 patient ratios required
• Charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP and CPAP, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
• Experience weaning patients from mechanical ventilation
• Proficient in airway management including suctioning, extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, and tracheostomy care
• Skilled in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Experience with nebulizer therapies, high flow nasal cannula, and trach collar oxygen therapy
• Experience with medication delivery systems including MDI and aerosol setups for mask/trach

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• RTO requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former employees must be separated from the health system for a minimum of one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Includes approximately 4 hours of required orientation modules prior to start
