Financial Advocate
Virtual Vocations Inc
To support patient financial counseling, the full-time Financial Advocate will calculate personalized financial estimates, communicate patient liabilities, and assist uninsured patients with funding applications while working remotely Monday through Friday. Key responsibilities Calculates and provides patients with estimates of their financial responsibilities based on insurance coverage Educates patients on financial concepts such as deductibles and copayments, and requests upfront payments for services Interviews uninsured patients to assess financial needs and coordinates applications for assistance programs Required qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent (GED/HSED) Typically requires 2 years of experience in Patient Access, healthcare, insurance, or customer service Basic knowledge of medical coding and insurance billing processes Understanding of HIPAA and EMTALA regulations Ability to articulate financial assistance policies and processes to patients and providers
