Job Title: Laser Operator/Programmer

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Laser Operator/Programmer to join our machine shop team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating CNC laser-cutting equipment, programming or modifying machine programs, and producing precision metal parts according to blueprints and specifications. Pay will be based on the candidate’s level of experience in both laser operation and programming.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser-cutting equipment
• Create, load, edit, and troubleshoot laser programs
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications
• Select appropriate machine settings, cutting parameters, materials, and programs
• Load raw materials and safely remove completed parts from the machine
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications
• Use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during production
• Troubleshoot programming, machine, and cutting-quality issues
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and report mechanical concerns
• Maintain accurate production, material usage, and quality documentation
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
• Work closely with production, engineering, and quality team members to meet deadlines

Required Qualifications:
• Previous experience operating CNC laser-cutting equipment in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience using precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production deadlines
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift materials throughout the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Steel-toe boots are required

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous laser programming experience
• Experience creating, editing, or modifying CNC laser programs
• Familiarity with nesting software and CNC machine controls
• Experience working with sheet metal and various metal thicknesses
• Knowledge of machine shop safety procedures and quality standards
• Experience troubleshooting laser-cutting or programming issues
• Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
