Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, administrative exempt Career Advisor position in the Student Affairs department. This position is a key member of the Career Services team, providing equity centered career development support to students, alumni, and community members. This role focuses on career exploration, planning, and goal development while advancing institutional priorities related to Guided Pathways and the Equity-Centered Strategic Plan. The Career Advisor collaborates across the college to scale career development strategies and support student success, persistence, and post-completion outcomes. This position will primarily work on the main campus Monday-Friday with some occasional evening and/or weekend hours.

Position Responsibilities
Career Development
- Apply equity centered career advising practices to serve systemically non dominant students, community members, and alumni.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor market trends, career information systems and related resources.
- Provide one-on-one and group advising on topics related to career exploration, career planning, career assessment tools, researching or choosing a major, and identifying additional career training or transfer options. Assess stages of career and academic development and promote growth by determining valuable action steps, and support establishment of attainable career and academic goals.
- Stay informed on career development theories and apply them effectively with diverse student populations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to scale career development activities across the college.
- Create, organize, and facilitate career development workshops and group advising in collaboration with the Career Services team.
- Maintain working knowledge of Clark College academic programs within Areas of Study.
- Develop and facilitate Student Success Workshops related to career exploration.
- Coordinate and host career related classroom presentations, as applicable, specifically for career advising content and in alignment with existing faculty partnership processes.
- Maintain and update career exploration activities in Canvas and other platforms to ensure content meets accessibility standards and is accurate, engaging, and relevant for diverse student populations and instructor use.
- Support the coordination of formal career assessments (e.g., Strong Interest Inventory, MBTI) as qualified and if/when these services are offered by the college.
- Develop and foster positive, collaborative working relationships with colleagues and other college offices to ensure Career Services meets student and institutional needs.
- Collaborate with Career Services colleagues and campus partners to develop, implement, and maintain innovative approaches to career development that align with Clark College's Equity Centered Strategic Plan and Guided Pathways.
- Participate in planning and implementation of career-related events (e.g, Career fairs, exploration events) in partnership with Career Services, Title III staff and other departments.
- Coordinate outreach strategies for undecided or exploratory students in collaboration with the Career Services team, campus partners and supervisor.
- Collaborate with Title Ill grant staff and Career Services colleagues to support Title Ill activities and outcomes.
- Make accurate referrals to Clark College departments such as academic advising, enrollment services, financial aid, and community partners.
- Collaborate with the Career Services team and Communications & Marketing to contribute to social media content and broader marketing and outreach strategies.
- Coordinate updates to Career Services website content related to career development, in collaboration with supervisor and team.
- Track client appointments and document relevant notes, using current software program.
- Participate in college committees as assigned or approved by supervisor.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years of related work experience in career advising, academic coaching or higher education OR a Masters degree AND one (1) year of related experience in career advising, academic coaching, or higher education.
- Demonstrated experience providing services, support, and advocacy for students with marginalized identities.
- Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

What We Offer
Salary Range: $65,969 - $76,384 annually (commensurate with qualifications and experience).
Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
