We are seeking a commercial or industrial Electronic Security Technician to join our federal team supporting the National Security Campus in Kansas City, MO

\n

\n Pay range: $30.00-$38.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience \n

Location: National Nuclear Security Campus (NNSA), Kansas City, MO
\n Shift: First Shift, roughly 7:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday (some weekend overtime may be required at times)
\n Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment
\n Vacation: Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)
\n Travel: None, all work is based at this location

As a Security Technician, you will:

\n

 

\n

\n
• Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, maintenance and service, and commissioning of integrated / electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include, but not limited to, access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems, primarily working with SoftwareHouse C-cure 9000
\n
• May install cabling, security devices and infrastructure at times in accordance with installation plan according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines
\n
• May assist with security system programming and setup
\n
• Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs
\n
• Conducts testing of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service
\n
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls
\n
• May help prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from Supervisor
\n
• Conduct End-User training.
\n
• Provide accurate information for as-builts documentation.
\n
• Adheres to safety standards and works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
\n
• Performs other duties as required

Required Qualifications:

\n

\n
• High School diploma or equivalent
\n
• Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting or repairing commercial or industrial integrated / electronic security systems for low voltage access controls, intrusion detection, CCTV and digital recording systems.
\n
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals. 
\n
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
\n
• Basic computer skills
\n
• Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment
\n
• Works well unsupervised and also as part of a team environment
\n
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DoE) security clearance required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.). Active clearance preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Proficiency working with Softwarehouse C-cure 9000
\n
• Proficiency working with commercial and/or industrial IP CCTV camera systems.
\n
• Programming experience with Electronic Security or Fire systems
\n

\n

 

\n

Preferred Education:

\n

\n
• Softwarehouse C-Cure 9000 certified
\n
• Electronics certification or training from a technical school or military 
\n
