School Nurse For Student With Type I DiabetesMake a meaningful difference in a student's daily experience by providing essential nursing support in a school-based, one-on-one setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to support a young learner with Type I Diabetes who is also deaf, ensuring her safety and well-being throughout the school day. You'll begin and end each day at the student's home in Lynn, accompanying her to and from the Beverly School for the Deaf.This role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled LPN or RN who enjoys working closely with students and values the continuity of care that a 1:1 assignment brings. The position runs through June 18, 2027, Monday through Friday, approximately 35 hours a week, 7:45am – 2:55pm.What we're looking for:Active MA LPN or RN license in good standingAt least 1 year of experience in nursing, preferably in pediatrics or school-based careComfortable supporting patients with Type I Diabetes, including blood glucose monitoring and insulin administrationAbility to communicate effectively and compassionately with students—experience with the deaf or hard-of-hearing community is a plusProfessionalism, punctuality, and a commitment to student safetyKey responsibilities:Provide attentive, continuous care for the student throughout the school day, including the bus ride to and from schoolMonitor and manage diabetes care, respond appropriately to urgent health needs, and maintain clear documentationFoster a supportive, respectful relationship with the student and collaborate with school staff and family as neededThis assignment is perfect for a nurse who appreciates regular hours and a structured schedule, with an immediate start through the end of the 26/27 school year.If you're ready to impact a student's school experience and offer essential care, apply today.
