Why Our Veterinary Technicians (LVT) / Assistants Love It Here Work in an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital caring for dogs and cats Join a team built around collaboration, respect, and high-quality patient care Receive mentorship and training designed to help you keep leveling up Expand your technical skills and take on additional responsibilities as you grow Work in an environment where questions are welcomed and learning is encouraged Take advantage of continuing education and professional development opportunities Use your existing veterinary skills while continuing to build new ones Be part of a hospital where teamwork and efficient workflow matter Work alongside teammates who support one another and share what they know Bring your authentic self to a workplace that values what you contribute What You’ll Do Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories Collect and record patient vital signs and assessments Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients Perform venipuncture and diagnostic sample collection Place IV catheters and assist with fluid therapy Prepare and support patients for treatments and procedures Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs during procedures Maintain accurate anesthesia monitoring records Provide attentive patient care before, during, and after procedures Maintain accurate and complete medical records and patient charts Document patient care, treatments, and relevant medical information accurately and promptly Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and exam areas Follow established infection-control and hospital protocols Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and other team members Help maintain an efficient daily hospital workflow Contribute to a positive, supportive, and professional hospital culture What You’ll Bring A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant Proficiency in fundamental veterinary technical and patient-care skills Experience obtaining patient histories, vital signs, and assessments Experience with venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection Experience monitoring anesthesia and patient vital signs during procedures Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate medical documentation Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety A collaborative, team-oriented approach Willingness to ask questions, learn, and continue developing professionally Desire to contribute to an efficient workflow and positive hospital culture A respectful, dependable, and supportive approach to your teammates Passion for providing compassionate care to pets and their families The Extras You’ll Actually Feel At Golf-Mil Veterinary Hospital, professional growth isn’t just something we talk about.
