Senior Manager, Data Product Management & Governance Key Role Responsibilities: Establish and lead a structured intake process for product demand; assess use cases, define value, clarify requirements, and prioritize work based on strategic alignment, feasibility, risk, and business impact. Lead the business-facing roadmap for assigned data products from concept through publication, adoption, improvement, and retirement. Translate product objectives, success measures, backlog priorities, and release-ready requirements for delivery teams. Lead development and adoption of business definitions, domain taxonomies, and product content to improve data discoverability, understanding, and reuse. Partner with Alation and catalog teams to enable a consistent self-service data marketplace experience. Define and operationalize data product ownership, stewardship roles, decision rights, and critical issue paths. Maintain business context, data definitions, documentation, access expectations, and lifecycle controls with domain leaders and stewards. Serve as primary business-facing partner to data engineering, architecture, platform, and ecosystem product teams. Track adoption/usage, feedback, and business value; improve usability, reduce duplication, increase reuse, and accelerate responsible analytics/AI enablement. Provide leadership and mentorship for data curation, stewardship, metadata enrichment, and marketplace operations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree or equivalent experience) in business, information systems, data analytics, supply chain, engineering, healthcare, or related field. 8+ years in data governance, data/digital product management, or enterprise data platforms. Experience in regulated global enterprise environments; MedTech/healthcare/pharma/life sciences/supply chain/quality/manufacturing preferred. Experience with data-as-a-product, business glossary, metadata management, data catalog/marketplace, data stewardship, data quality, access governance, and product lifecycle management. Strong ability to translate business needs into product requirements, executive narratives, measurable outcomes, and delivery priorities; excellent written/verbal/facilitation/management skills. Helpful: modern data platforms, semantic layers, medallion architecture, data pipelines, analytics platforms, AI/ML enablement, enterprise data controls. Preferred Skills: Alation (or similar) enterprise data catalog/marketplace/metadata management. Business glossaries, data dictionaries, domain taxonomies, data contracts, certification standards, governed data product documentation. Supply chain/manufacturing data, quality systems, product lifecycle controls, or enterprise planning processes. Operating models, RACI, governance forums, scalable decision frameworks. Ability to operate in ambiguity and balance strategic/tactical priorities. Other Requirements: Up to 10% travel; fully onsite attendance policy.
