MAINTENANCE TECH

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all maintenance and repairs. Must be the site leader in living and driving the Company Core Values and High-Performance Work Culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Be knowledgeable of all Vandalia manufacturing equipment and facility equipment. This would include all Lid Operations, Coating Operations, Lithography Operations, and all fans, chillers, restrooms, and any other facility equipment.
• This role requires working knowledge of basic Mechanical, welding, Electrical, Plumbing, carpentry, and die repair maintenance.
• This role requires good problem-solving skills to analyze and repair equipment in the shortest amount of time.
• The Maintenance technician is responsible for completing all PM work they are assigned working with others in the assigned departments, such as coater and litho.
• Operates forklift and scissor lift if needed to complete a job
• Is responsible to maintain and keep an orderly inventory of all spare parts through the direction of the Maintenance Lead.
• Performs daily/monthly/quarterly/yearly inspections on equipment throughout the facility
• Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste and universal waste in accordance with State and Federal law
• Follow company personnel and product safety requirements; including standards from SQF and internal GMPs
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read in English and interpret documents such as safety


rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine


reports and correspondence.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentages, as well as draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to problem solve and develop short-term and long-term solutions.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to operate the fork truck in a safe and expeditious manner so that there are no delays in the manufacturing or in the shipping operations. Employee must be able to safely and efficiently operate the lift at its maximum lift height (approximately 180").

WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
