Personal Injury Legal Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Legal Assistant for a high-volume Law Firm located in downtown Akron.

Responsibilities include:

Provide administrative support to 3 lawyers concentrating in civil, personal injury and domestic relations
Handle communication with clients
Litigation experience; preparing discovery; filings in Federal and State courts in Ohio
Preparing documents drafted by the attorney
Answer and direct phone calls
Help in opening and closing files
Needles case management software knowledge is a plus

Skills:

Proven working experience as a legal administrative assistant
Proficient typing skills
Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and municipal and county court systems
Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Use of video conferencing a plus
Working knowledge of case management software
Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple activities and work under pressure

Education:

High school or equivalent (Required)
Paralegal Studies/Degree ( Plus)

Experience:

Personal Injury/Legal Administrative Assistant: 3 years (Required)
