Work Environment

This position offers a remote work setting, allowing you to engage with clients from the comfort of your home while maintaining a flexible work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients presenting with symptoms of mood disorders, such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety, analyzing the intensity, frequency, and duration of these symptoms.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances, goals, and preferences, utilizing evidence-based methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Educate clients and their families about the nuances of mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care practices, ensuring they feel supported throughout their therapeutic journey.
  • Monitor and track client progress consistently, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to reflect changing needs and foster continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to deliver integrated care, ensuring a holistic approach to clients’ mental health.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices relevant to mood disorders to enhance clinical skills and improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring clients’ privacy and trust.
  • Participate actively in case consultations and team meetings to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among staff members.
  • Advocate for clients' needs, particularly in addressing mental health stigma and ensuring equitable access to services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals experiencing mood disorders and other mental health challenges. This includes supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, such as those who are homeless, refugees, or survivors of domestic abuse. Your compassionate approach and professional expertise will play a crucial role in helping these individuals navigate their unique struggles, thereby making a significant impact on their lives.

Qualifications

  • A valid and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is essential.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the development of a strong therapeutic alliance with clients.
  • Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients’ experiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management to balance caseloads and administrative duties.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience working with clients facing mood disorders.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and technology for remote therapy sessions.
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
  • A background in community mental health services is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
