Key Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, with eligibility for renewal for the 2026-2027 school year
• Previous experience as a school nurse or in a pediatric/child-care setting highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of school health policies, procedures, and best practices
• Proficient in assessing, triaging, and managing student illness, injuries, and chronic conditions
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Compassionate, professional demeanor with the ability to work independently
• Current CPR and First Aid certification

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily health office operations, including illness and injury assessment, care, and documentation
• Develop and implement individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and school protocols
• Serve as a health resource to students, staff, and families, promoting overall campus wellness
• Collaborate with educators, counselors, and allied school staff on emergency planning and student support
• Conduct health screenings and immunization compliance checks
• Maintain confidential, accurate student health records and assist with state/regulatory reporting
