Family Medicine Physician
Evren Technologies
About the Opportunity Evren Technologies is a clinical-stage medical device company developing Phoenix—a first-of-its-kind, FDA-designated Breakthrough Device for the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) using non-invasive transauricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS). As Phoenix advances toward FDA pivotal trials, the company is entering a critical phase of scientific validation, clinical translation, and early market readiness. PTSD affects more than 13 million Americans. The vast majority of these patients are managed not in specialized psychiatric facilities, but within primary care ecosystems. Current standard-of-care options heavily rely on pharmacologic therapies (which often present systemic side effects and high non-compliance) and specialized exposure therapies (which suffer from limited accessibility and high dropout rates). Phoenix is designed to address this gap. Through a closed-loop, ear-level neuromodulation system, patients can receive safe, non-invasive treatment at home—targeting autonomic nervous system regulation. The platform is supported by clinical evidence, FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, and active collaboration across the VA, NIH, and Department of Defense research ecosystem. Evren’s mission is to deliver an evidence-based, scalable, and accessible treatment for PTSD—expanding care options while improving long-term outcomes within global primary care networks. Role Overview Evren Technologies is seeking an Advisory Board Member – Family Medicine & Primary Care Integrated Health to provide high-level clinical, longitudinal, and operational guidance as the company progresses through pivotal trials, VA deployment, and early commercialization. This is a board-level advisory opportunity for an accomplished, board-certified Family Medicine Physician with deep experience in comprehensive chronic disease management, behavioral health integration, or primary care practice operations. You will work closely with Evren’s executive, scientific, and clinical leadership to help shape how a novel bioelectronic approach to PTSD can be smoothly integrated into busy primary care workflows, routine chronic care models, and distributed community physician networks—ensuring real-world clinical utility, long-term home adherence, and strong advocacy within the primary care ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Board-Level Primary Care Guidance Provide strategic input on Evren’s clinical direction, with a focus on chronic PTSD management, patient-led home compliance, and the realities of treating mental health within a primary care setting. Help guide the operational feasibility and scalable implementation of the Phoenix platform across multi-provider community networks. Care Pathway & Workflow Integration Advise on how Phoenix can be efficiently positioned within standard family medicine workflows without adding undue administrative burden to primary care providers. Help define standardized protocols for primary care tracking, remote patient monitoring, and long-term therapeutic follow-up. Adherence & Patient-Centric Design Provide clinical insights into daily patient behavior, lifestyle integration, and potential barriers to at-home medical device adherence in diverse demographics. Advise on patient-facing materials, educational guidelines, and mobile interface strategies to maximize long-term therapeutic compliance. Whole-Person & Chronic Disease Positioning Shape narratives regarding how autonomic nervous system regulation via taVNS impacts comorbid conditions frequently seen in primary care (e.g., chronic insomnia, hypertension, anxiety, and somatic manifestations of trauma). Help position Phoenix as a non-pharmacological first- or second-line alternative that avoids the systemic side effects and drug-drug interactions common in complex primary care patients. Strategic Network Support Facilitate introductions to primary care academic leaders, large outpatient medical groups, accountable care organizations (ACOs), and professional organizations (e.g., AAFP). Support engagement with the broader family medicine and integrated behavioral health communities. Advisory Participation Participate in periodic advisory board discussions to help guide Evren’s clinical, operational, and commercial scaling roadmap. Ideal Candidate Profile MD or DO with board certification in Family Medicine. Additional certificates or advanced experience in Integrated Behavioral Health, Lifestyle Medicine, or Community Health is highly desirable. 10+ years of active clinical, academic, research, or executive leadership experience within a primary care network, community health center, or large outpatient healthcare system. Strong familiarity with whole-person care models, chronic disease compliance tracking, and a keen interest in bringing bioelectronic medicine/neuromodulation into mainstream primary care. Experience evaluating digital health tools, remote patient monitoring systems, or FDA-regulated medical devices preferred. Prior advisory board, health system committee, or professional medical society leadership experience strongly preferred. Comfortable contributing at a senior, cross-functional, and strategic level. A profound interest in advancing innovative, accessible, and evidence-based PTSD treatments for everyday communities, veterans, and underserved populations. Time Commitment Approximately 1–2 hours per month Fully remote with flexible engagement (accommodating clinic-based schedules) Compensation & Benefits Equity participation aligned with advisory contribution. Opportunity to participate in Evren’s current financing round. Direct impact on transforming PTSD care by embedding it into the foundation of healthcare: the patient's medical home. Collaboration with leading clinicians, neuroscientists, and healthcare innovators. Exposure to FDA Breakthrough Device development and widespread, scalable primary care deployment models. Why Join Evren This is an opportunity to contribute at a meaningful inflection point—where everyday community medicine meets breakthrough neuro-innovation. Your longitudinal, patient-centered perspective will shape how a new class of non-invasive neuromodulation therapy is validated, prescribed, and seamlessly adopted by family physicians to heal patients where they live. How to Apply Interested candidates are invited to submit a CV and a brief statement of interest outlining relevant experience in family medicine, integrated behavioral health, or outpatient medical device deployment.
