Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)

An expanding non-sterile compounding mail-order pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to join their team in either Gilbert, AZ or West Egg Township/Galloway, NJ. This direct hire opportunity centers on a working PIC role, ideal for a pharmacist who thrives in a hands-on environment managing dispensing, patient counseling, pharmacy operations, and regulatory compliance.

This position requires a licensed pharmacist in Arizona or New Jersey, with 35 years of pharmacy experience. Preference is given to candidates with backgrounds in mail-order, outpatient, community, or compounding pharmacy settings who are comfortable leading as a working PIC. Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations for a 503A facility is essential. Candidates licensed on the West Coast (CA, NM, TX, NV, UT, OR, WA, CO) are highly preferred to support the pharmacy's national expansion goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescriptions accurately and provide expert patient counseling
• Supervise pharmacy staff while maintaining SOP, USP, and FDA 503A compliance
• Manage inventory, controlled substances, and all required documentation
• Address patient inquiries and uphold exceptional customer service standards
• Ensure regulatory compliance across serviced states

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid pharmacist license in AZ or NJ matching work location
• 35 years of pharmacy experience, preferably in mail-order, outpatient, community, or compounding
• Prior PIC or pharmacy management experience highly preferred
• Familiarity with PioneerRx software is a plus (training provided if needed)
• Strong regulatory knowledge specific to 503A facilities

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Potential weekend coverage as the pharmacy grows

This is a direct hire opportunity with competitive compensation ranging from $68 to $75 per hour, approximately $145K to $156K annually depending on experience and licensure.
