Ledwell is seeking a CNC Machinist (Night Shift) to operate CNC machines and use existing programming to produce tools & parts to dimensional requirements. The ideal candidate will possess several years of CNC operating experience, some exposure to CNC programming, and attributes of a self-starter as this individual will at times work under indirect supervision.  The work hours are from 5pm to 6am, Monday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate and monitor machinery such as CNC/MANUAL machines, presses, shears, grinders, and saws to produce or assemble products according to specifications.

· Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.

· Perform machine setup and adjustments, including calibration, speed, and feed settings.

· Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning to ensure machines function properly and safely.

· Change worn machine accessories, such as cutting tools or brushes, using hand tools.

· Select the proper coolants and lubricants and start their flow.

· Handle materials by loading raw materials and unloading finished products, sometimes involving heavy or sharp items. 

· Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces, using files, hand grinders, wire brushes, or power tools.

· Perform quality control inspections to ensure products meet standards.

· Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major malfunctions to supervisors.

· All other assigned duties.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED, with 2-3+ years of relevant work experience.

· Two-year Machining Technology degree (Preferred)

· Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently.

· Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, operating CNC and manual machine tools, understanding shop mathematics, and using precision measuring instruments.

· Knowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. 

Work Environment

• On-site in a manufacturing or service facility, often working with heavy equipment and in a non-climate-controlled shop setting.
• Requires both precision work and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
