Coastal Engineer Waterfront/Climate Resilience Mid Level

The firm provides clients worldwide with customized service and a level of excellence that have become the firm’s hallmark in several primary practice areas – ports and harbors; coastal, environmental and water resources; urban waterfronts and marinas; transportation, bridges and rail; inspection and rehabilitation; and energy.Our San Francisco Bay Area team is well established in the climate resiliency market and is looking for a mid-level engineer to support our exciting and growing workload as they develop their career through client support, team management, and technical expansion.Duties and responsibilities:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Prepares coastal climate impact and risk assessments for coastal infrastructure and develops technical solutions to address those risksPrepare Regional Shoreline Adaptation Plans (RSAP) through analysis, coordination of figures, and writingSupports design of nature based solutions, such as living shorelinesParticipate in community presentations and technical team workshopsInteract with regulatory agencies or support team leader that is managing the regulatory processAssists project manager, or acts as project manager, to prepare/review engineering scopes of work and budgets/estimates for proposals and track budget and schedule status throughout the course of each projectInterface with clients as needed for successful project delivery. Address client requirements and manage client expectations regarding scope, schedule and quality on projectsCommunicate with staff and subconsultants to establish work priorities for projectsSupports marketing through research of upcoming opportunities and preparing proposals.Tracking SB1 grant applications for various communities throughout the regionFamiliar with permitting requirements for San Francisco Bay and northern California regulatory agencies, and is able to provide engineering solutions that comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actionsOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
