Established in 1847, Mercy Hospital merged with UPMC in 2008 to become UPMC Mercy.Work Schedule:Two 8-hour (10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.) and two 12-hour (6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.) night shifts per week.Rotating weekend shifts and team-divided holiday coverage rotation.NO on-call or travel!Leadership attempts to schedule with as much consistency as possible to allow for work-life balance!Eligible Night Program participants must have a minimum of six months of experience, and must commit to working a full-time equivalent number of shifts in night hours. Eligible participants will receive an additional $2.00 per hour Night Program differential on top of the standard off-shift differential ($4.00 total) for these night shifts. If you're passionate about patient care and eager to grow professionally, apply today!Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based on individual experience and education, at manager discretion.Responsibilities:Performs computed tomography procedures, including contrast administration, and utilizes complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data.Ensures all exams within area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.Administers PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders/department policy and assesses patients for potential risk factors prior to the administration of the contrast.Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner, and explains procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation.Demonstrates a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.Able to work as a team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers.Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, and documents patient history in electronic record, as required.Demonstrates proper technique in venipuncture.Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program. ARRT registry-eligible technologists must obtain ARRT registry within 6 months of hire date. CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired. CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of hire date if primary registry is already obtained. CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT registry within 6 months of hire date.
