Assist with patient hygiene, ambulation, feeding, and other daily care activities Perform technical care tasks per patient plan of care, including vital signs, I/O documentation, and comfort measures Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the assigned nurse Set up and remove non-invasive monitoring equipment and assist with specimen collection and transport Support emergency response efforts according to hospital policy Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transfers Retrieve medications from pharmacy as per policy Complete documentation accurately in patient records Perform clerical duties including answering phones, assisting visitors, processing orders, and managing supply stock Practice safety and infection control protocols, including waste disposal, aseptic technique, and cleaning of patient care areas Assist with patient transport and equipment preparation Perform other duties as assigned What Sets BRG Apart: At Baton Rouge General, we are a community of compassionate, caring individuals who set the bar when it comes to healthcare excellence. Requirements EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Previous job experience preferred. SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS Certified Nursing Assistant Certification or Basic EMT Certification or Military Medic experience or Nursing Student with completion of fundamental nursing clinical in RN program desired. HIPAA REQUIREMENTS Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Medical records without limitation both paper and electronic, patient demographics, lab and radiology results, patient information related to surgery or appointment schedules, medical records related to quality/data, patient financial information, patients related complaints, information related to patient location, and religious beliefs.
