Description:

The Senior ElectricalControls Engineerwill design, implement, andmaintaincontrol systemsforpaper mill operations to ensureoptimalefficiency,qualityand safety. This role focuses on automation, instrumentation, and process optimization across papermachineand converting operations. The successful candidate willbe requiredto work on site at the Whiting Millin Stevens Point, WI.

Responsibilities:

• Keep environmental and employee safety top-of-mind in the completion of all tasks.

• Configure andmaintainPLCsand HMIsystems for paper mill processes.

• Develop and update control logic for stock preparation, paper machines, and converting lines.

• Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, and process instruments (e.g., flow, pressure, temperature, level).

• Provide engineering support toassistin the maximization of asset TPD, Yield, Uptime, and COM targets.

• Analyze production data to improve machine efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

• Implement advanced control strategies for consistency control,basisweight, moisture, and tension.

• Provide technical support during equipment failures and process upsets.

• Collaborate withMaintenance andOperations teams to resolve control-related issues.

• Maintainaccuratedocumentation of control systems and modifications.

• Development and execute capital projects to support strategic initiatives, reduce costs, and sustain and improve operations from a safety,reliabilityand environmental standpoint.

• Abide by the spirit of all identified industry safety guidelines, mandates, regulations, and laws.

• Managethirdparty engineering asneededtoexpediteproject initiatives.

• Assistin the development and management of the 5-year capital plan for the Whiting facility.

• Plan and execute annualmillshutdownsso activities are impactful and remain in budget.

• Support thedevelopthe technical skills ofourElectrical and Instrumentationteam members.

• Support thedevelopthe technical skills ofothers inthe Engineering group.

• Incorporateenergy and cost effectiveness into the designofall equipment additions and modifications.

Qualifications:

Required

• Aminimum of3yearsofrelevantexperience.

• Proficiencyin PLC/DCS programming (Rockwell\Allen-BradleyControllogix).

• Proficiencywith Rockwell\Allen-BradleyPowerFlexAC and DC drives.

• Proficiencywith Rockwell\Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk View Studio andPanelviewPlus hardware.

• Knowledge of industrial networking and control system cybersecurity.

• Must be able to wearrequiredPPE whenneeded, and travel through the facility to perform tasks in areas that are hot and humid.This may require climbing stairs or ladders.

• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas as this time (e.g., H-1B, TN, O-1, etc.).

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation or Engineering field.

• Experience in pulp and paper manufacturing,to includefamiliarity with paper mill processes and quality control systems.

• Knowledge ofAutoCadElectricala plus.

• Oracle knowledgea plus.

• Preferred Certifications: ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or similar.

• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain concepts to a varied audience whenrequired.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlineswith minimal supervision.
