Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PT Acute Care Hospital Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute rehab License: Required Certifications: BLS in hand, AHA issued Must-Have: - Acute rehab experience - Valid state license Description: Responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs that improve patient mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Provides clinical supervision of assistants and aides and serves as a clinical instructor for assigned students. Additional qualifications include experience with emergency care, trauma levels, and community hospital settings. Skills required include knowledge of various rehabilitation techniques, patient care practices, and assistive devices. Experience with specific charting systems is essential, and candidates must demonstrate effective time management and patient education skills. Possible patient diagnoses may include CVA, SCI, TBI, amputation, cardiac issues, and oncology-related conditions. Travel experience may be required, along with the ability to meet specific patient care needs and manage interdisciplinary support.
