Maintenance Technician

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing industrial equipment, with a strong emphasis on hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems up to 480V. The maintenance technician supports safe and reliable operation of extruder and feeder machines by diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and interpreting electrical schematics for equipment controls.

Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repair on industrial equipment, with a focus on extruder and feeder machines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 480V and 220V circuits, 3-phase motors, and related components.
  • Read, interpret, and apply electrical schematics and diagrams for equipment control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct PLC troubleshooting as needed to identify control-related faults and support equipment functionality.
  • Perform routine maintenance repairs to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently.
  • Use industrial maintenance tools and techniques to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work and support continuous plant operations.
  • Document maintenance activities and repairs to support accurate records and ongoing equipment reliability.
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Essential Skills
  • Industrial maintenance experience, ideally 1–3 years in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
  • Experience working with electrical systems up to 480V, including 480V and 220V circuits.
  • Proficiency with 3-phase motors and related electrical components.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics for equipment controls.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with industrial mechanical repairs.
  • Troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting to support equipment control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of extruders or similar industrial equipment.
  • Industrial maintenance degree preferred or equivalent technical education or training.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Industrial maintenance degree or technical diploma in a related field is preferred.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with extruder and feeder machines or similar processing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation for complex equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on maintenance tasks.
  • Comfort working with 3-phase power and high-voltage systems in a safe and controlled manner.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing plant that produces plastic pellets used for injection molding. The facility is not temperature controlled, so conditions can be hot or cold depending on the season. The maintenance team operates in a stable, low-turnover environment where employees tend to stay for many years and internal movement between plants supports career growth. The position follows a 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM shift schedule on a rotating pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off, supporting continuous plant operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of Nashville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $70720.00/yr.
