Lead QA Tester – North PhoenixLocation: 19601 N 27th Ave Phoenix AZ 85027 (onsite)How this role will make an impact:PetSmart is aggressively accelerating its software capabilities and we are looking for an experienced leader who can drive us forward. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of software testing and will be main lead to develop the QA strategy and stand-up the framework for new automation. The QA lead will develop the QA processes and guidelines for the team geared towards agile engineering and automation practices, as well as, manual testing practices. The QA lead will manage the testing team, but will also roll up their sleeves and test, and will be responsible for assuring that PetSmart's standards for quality assurance are met, will keep project and deliverables on track, and provide status reports and metrics to the Project team.Your goals and responsibilities will include:Expert in development and implementation of new automated testing framework, Tosca experience preferredDevelop and automate integration, functional, and system test scripts. Coach and Lead Automated Testing team.Expert in developing test strategy, test plans, test scenarios and test procedures/test scripts (both automated and manual).Experience with automated testing in a continuous integration environmentDelegate/Coordinate, manage and work with internal teams to deliver on QA effortsPlan, design, craft and execute manual test cases for solutions and services in a complex integrated environment, be an individual working contributorCoordinate various test-related activities for project delivery: identifying task dependencies, test schedules, creation of test data, utilization of test environments, etc.Work with product stakeholders to identify and prioritize tests that are candidates for integration, regression and automation.Provide constructive feedback throughout the development lifecycleDevelop new test cases and enhance current test suite as new functionality is builtManage the status of defects/enhancements in the issue tracking/change management system as well as manage defects through issue resolution for any vendor provided solutionsCollect and report data pertaining to bug detection, defect testing results and performanceWork with development and delivery teams to enhance the testability of their code, and to analyze and resolve defects in a timely mannerProvide on-site guidance and mentorship to other QA testersPartner with IS and Business teams through testing strategy, findings, and continuous improvementWhat you’ll bring to the table:5-7 years of strong automation and manual QA Testing experience and leadershipExperience in standing up automation framework, Tosca experience preferredExperience managing a QA or software testing teamSolid understanding of software testing practices and agile developmentSolid knowledge of Point of Sale and Payment Solutions and Promotion/Offer ApplicationsStrong Analytical skills that helps with working independently under minimal directionPositive attitude, team-player with strong work ethic, results mindedTeam player with strong oral and written communicator with good interpersonal skillsLeadership skills to manage multiple priorities and guide other testing effortsExperience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management platformUnderstanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks is helpfulStrong customer focus and ability to clearly understand requirements and designs, offer recommendations for improvements and ability to ensure solution meets the customer needsPassion for delivering quality software solutions, systems and servicesProven ability to work under tight deadlines and the ability to deal with ambiguityStrong problem solving skillsExperience in testing with web, mobile application and API messaging across multiple devices.Stress/Performance/Security testing experience is a plusRequired Skills: ***Candidates must be local to Arizona. This is an on-site position and all candidates must be willing to go into the office and be local to Phoenix, AZ. No relo candidates please. Local only *** Address: 19601 N 27th Ave Phoenix AZ 85027 (onsite role) They will be working on testing cash register POS devices in their lab onsite, so must be alright with that. After 4-6 months remote work will be allowed as that is when they will be moving to automation. - Strong Manual and Automation testing experience is a must, as is some kind of management or lead experience as the role is a lead position. The project will start more manual but will transition to automation after 4-6 months. Once project has moved to automation there will be remote work allowed. - Lead or mgmt experience is required as well as automation and manual testing *We can indeed sub vend and layer if need be, and this role will likely be a contract to hire, and the client is able to provide sponsorship as well upon conversion.
