Warehouse Material Hander

The Warehouse Material Handler will load and unload parts and material handling equipment. Position will perform operations required in the warehouse including inventory transfers, and delivery of inventory. Will be required to safely operate a variety of forklifts and material handling equipment while loading and unloading trailers and containers. As the Warehouse Material Handler, you may be responsible for performing operations required in the warehouse including shipping, receiving and delivery of inventory as well as assisting the supervisor and maintenance department in various projects and tasks.


Essential Functions:

• Responsible for processing all incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Responsible to load and unloading palletized and non-palletized material in a safe & efficient manner as well as secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
• Accurately and efficiently receive & process all inbound trucks, products, material & parts.
• Count and verify that all incoming material matches the packing list and order.
• Standing on concrete, climbing on and off forklifts many times a day, using a crowbar to unchock wooden blocks that secure the forklift to the trailer floor, walking, bending, with ability to lift up to 50 #s.
• Will be responsible to provide assistance to other departments and the facility maintenance department as needed this could include outdoor landscaping, lawncare, ice/snow removing, minor plumbing, ground inspection, minor facility repairs, installing office furniture and equipment.
• Verify that the serial numbers on all forklifts received and shipped are correct per paperwork.
• Complete inventory transfers as material are received and or moved to different locations.
• Unload, unchock, unpack, separate, identify, inspect, count, sort and deliver or park all goods in proper locations or put away materials to designated areas.
• Verify inventory transfers by identifying truck project numbers, order numbers, part numbers, quantities, purchase orders, and material descriptions.
• Use computer to keep track of where material and trucks are being stored, and to search inventory and locations.
• Identify transfer errors and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Complete all related reports, paperwork, and file accordingly.
• Enter, retrieve, and understand data from computerized inventory system.
• Responsible for discarding all recyclable products in the appropriate manners.
• Will be responsible to maintain neat and ordering work and storage areas.
• Maintain OSHA requires Daily Checklists for daily forklift safety & maintenance checks.
• Support all company policies, including safety, housekeeping, and work performance.
• Ensure equipment is safe and safely operated.
• Perform cycle counting and physical inventory as needed.
• Responsible for meeting all safety requirements and policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Participate in the 5s program and maintain a neat, organized, and safe work area.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma with 2-4 years related experience in Material Handling, Warehouse, Shipping, or Receiving
• Forklift Certification required.
• Ability to handle a high volume and mix of assignments on a daily basis while multitasking.
• Good interpersonal skills and be an analytical problem solver, must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with freight carriers, customers, coworkers and management.
• Ability to move parts and material up to 50 lbs.
• Dock/Warehouse experience helpful but will train.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without any sponsorship now or in the future.

Working Conditions:

The position is in a warehouse environment that require long periods of standing, walking and occasional squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing up and down from forklifts, and using computers and various office equipment. The work environment may be exposed to the typical production warehouse environment which is described as follows: May encounter loud noise from various machinery and equipment that may generate loud noise and vibration, varying temperatures (including heat during summer and from the operation of equipment). The incumbent may encounter oil, grease, paint, solvents, dust. and other potentially hazardous materials. The incumbent may also encounter dust, fumes, flying debris, and fast-moving machinery, such as forklift trucks when performing duties. May be required to perform duties in outdoor weather.
