Job Summary As a Nurse Practitioner at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Marble Falls, you will assess the physical and mental condition of patients, conduct examinations and histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop evidence‑based treatment plans, counsel patients and families, maintain records, and provide consultation and procedural support as needed. You will work in an inpatient setting, manage patients, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes. The city’s 6,514 residents enjoy a Certified Film Friendly Community designation, award‑winning wineries, seven lakes, and a charming Main Street District with antique shops, boutiques, and restaurants. Essential Functions of the Role Assess patients’ physical and mental conditions through comprehensive or problem‑focused examinations and medical histories. Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to determine patient needs. Prescribe therapeutic treatments, including medical drug therapies, and perform procedures in accordance with approved protocols. Develop and implement comprehensive, outcomes‑based patient treatment plans based on evidence‑based medicine and collaboration with physicians and other team members. Monitor patients’ responses to care and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. Provide counseling to patients and families regarding medical processes, disease management, medications, nutrition, and health promotion. Maintain detailed records of treatment plans and outcomes. Initiate timely consultations and referrals when patient problems exceed scope of practice. Offer consultation‑level services related to the provider’s specialty and training. Manage patients in settings other than a primary clinic, such as inpatient, emergency, or procedural units. Perform invasive procedures specific to scope of practice as delegated by a supervising physician. Volunteer for additional patient‑care duties beyond the regular schedule when needed for department coverage. Key Success Factors Knowledge of diagnosing and treating human injuries, diseases, and deformities, including drug interactions and preventive measures. Understanding of principles for diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating physical and mental dysfunctions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Critical thinking and complex problem‑solving ability. Proficiency with computers and related software applications. Ability to develop and implement comprehensive outcomes‑based treatment plans. Ability to counsel patients on medical, psychological, and behavioral interventions. Ability to interpret and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic results. Texas RN licensure or RN licensure with compact privilege from a compact‑partner state. Current certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Texas. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer. Board certification as an APRN for the required patient population. Schedule Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Inpatient only. 3–8 patients per day. Must be acute care certified.
