Native Landscape and Restoration Technician

Company Introduction ReForest is a native landscaping and habitat restoration company committed to improving ecological health through science‑based land management practices. We work across a wide range of settings, from residential properties to large‑scale greenspaces, parks, and conservation lands, to restore native ecosystems and promote long‑term environmental resilience. Position Summary Restoration and Native Landscape Technicians will use ecologically sensitive methodologies to restore ecosystem function on private and public lands, as well as perform native landscaping services. Safeguarding native species and minimizing collateral damage is prioritized. The job consists of 100% fieldwork engaging in invasive species management using manual removal and targeted chemical treatment methods, as well as planting, seeding, and maintenance of residential landscapes and natural areas. There is no centralized office; the team meets at project sites each day, which can be anywhere within the broader Atlanta metro area, so reliable transportation is essential. Duties Perform physical labor outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions (except in cases of extreme weather), including exposure to stinging insects, venomous snakes, and poisonous plants (e.g., poison ivy). Follow best management practices and removal protocols to remove invasive species. Distinguish between native and invasive species. Replant native species as needed. Use manual and specific chemical application techniques in line with company standards. Work as a team to execute sitework and session objectives. Perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods on a daily basis. Drive to the jobsite each day and arrive punctually. Work outdoors year‑round in various weather conditions and temperatures. Work in difficult environments, including rough terrain, wet ground, thick brush, and insects, often without access to restroom. Qualifications Experience working outdoors strongly preferred. Experience identifying plant species, especially those found in the Piedmont region and those considered invasive, or a sincere interest and willingness to learn. Dedication to protecting native ecosystems. Reliable, self‑motivated, with open communication skills, able to work and be trusted with minimal supervision once fully trained. Willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and follow guidance. Reliable transportation. Relevant interest, experience, or workshops, certifications, or degrees related to ecology, native landscaping, Georgia Piedmont species identification, or desire to pursue. Field Technician Levels Field Technician I (Entry‑Level) $18.50/hr Training‑focused role. Limited plant ID capability. No leadership responsibility. Field Technician II (Skilled Technician) $19–$21/hr Solid plant ID and execution of ReForest land management methods. Works independently on tasks. No formal leadership role. Senior Technician $21.50-$22.50/hr Assists Crew Leader. May run small tasks or sections of a site or fill in when Crew Leader is unavailable. Emerging leadership ability. Time Off Flexible time off.
